Read-a-thon status:

Violet and Lincoln, from Empower, just *love* to suffer,

and to make me suffer with them, don't they? Such drama

queens, lol. But I love these characters, and I've loved their

story so far, so I trust they'll end in a good place.

I'm currently reading Empower, by Jessica Shirvington, and I'm going to pair it with a song, Eden by Sara Bareilles. The song makes me think of Violet Eden, the main character. It did even before I had read the book. Not only because of the coincidence between the song's title and Violet's surname, but also because of Violet's story. Between the last book's ending, Endless, and this book's beginning, there's been a lot of pain and heartbreak for Violet, and a fall from grace and from a good place. Both, I believe, are mirrored in the song's lyrics and story.
