The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 12th and runs through Sunday, May 18th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 10 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team
Back to a Bout of Books read-a-thon! I really missed doing one. I usually don't behave in a different way when it's a read-a-thon week, reading-wise - yet, entering a read-a-thon makes it a special week. So, I'm glad I'm participating once more, I always have so much fun. I'm so excited, and looking forward for the challenges coming our way this week.
Please
consider this my sign up post and my goals post, since I feel like I
would be repeating myself, doing separate posts for either.
My goals:
- To read every day, and to read for at least an hour (maybe two hours)
- To enter some challenges, if not all of them
- To update my progress every day, or most likely, every day I enter a challenge
- To try to socialize
- To read 3 fiction books from the pile below, and maybe one of the graphic novel or manga books in the pile
As for
the books to be read this read-a-thon, I put together a pile of books I might want to read in the next few days, but as always, I like to keep my options open, and I may change my
mind, so no pressure to stick to the pile.
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Omnibus, Alan Moore, Kevin O'Neill
Neon Genesis Evangelion 3-in-1 edition Vol. 1: books 1-3, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto
Empower, Jessica Shirvington
Queen of Babble, Meg Cabot
Queen of Babble in the Big City, Meg Cabot
Queen of Babble Gets Hitched, Meg Cabot
Looking for Alaska, John Green
O Filho das Sombras (Son of the Shadows), Juliet Marillier [Portuguese edition]
A Rainha das Trevas (The Dark Queen), Susan Carroll [Portuguese edition]
Longbourn: Amor e Coragem (Longbourn), Jo Baker [Portuguese edition]
A Escolha dos Três (The Drawing of the Three), Stephen King [Portuguese edition]
Promised, Caragh M. O'Brien [e-book]
The only ones I'm fairly certain I will read are Promised, by Caragh M. O'Brien, for a read-a-long, and Empower, by Jessica Shirvington, because I'm dying to read Violet's last adventure.
To everyone who is entering the read-a-thon, good luck with your goals, and have fun!
